Yarmouth made 3 changes from last Saturdays defeat at Heacham, with Philpott, Melo and Lonnergan all coming in to the starting line up.
The game started brightly with both sides looking to press their opponents, however in the 15th minute following a Stannard corner for Cornard, Yarmouth failed to clear their lines and Phillips took full advantage with a simple tap in to put the visitors 1-0 up.
Two minutes later the home side responded with an effort from Jacobs that went just wide of the post and he was unlucky not to level the scores and Yarmouth were making an effort to get back into the match, but were finding Cornard a tough nut to crack as they were proving to be a very well organised and resilient outfit.
On the half hour mark Yarmouth failed to learn from their previous mistake and from another Stannard corner that man Phillips once again converted this time with a free header in the box to put his side 2-0 up.
The visitors were now bossing this game and 2 minutes later the Bloaters keeper Lane made a decent save to deny an effort from Scoots the Cornard number 9.
Leading up to half-time the home side had a long range effort from Beeson that went wide and then another effort from the same striker was blocked by a defender.
Right on half time Couzens was sinned binned for dissent, which meant that Yarmouth would have to start the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half with only 10 men.
Half-time: Great Yarmouth Town 0 Cornard United 2.
Although the Bloaters began the 2nd period with only 10 men they went on the front foot and Lonnergan went on a surging run that was only just stopped before he could unleash an effort at goal.
Cornard now looked to be trying to hold on to their 2 goal advantage and were happy to let Yarmouth have the lions share of the possession until the final third of the pitch.
The Bloaters were trying everything to get back into the match and a further two half chances fell to Beeson, but both were both blocked by a solid visitors rearguard.
On 75 minutes that man Beeson once again had a great opportunity to get his side back in the contest, but instead of shooting at goal from a decent position he chose to pass the ball to substitute McQueen who shot from a much tighter angle and the effort went wide.
Yarmouth made 2 late substitutions with with Wing and Roots replacing Jacobs and Willetts.
In the 89th minute Taylor headed home from yet another corner to give his side a convincing 3-0 lead and in injury time Scoots took the ball around Lane in the Yarmouth goal to make it 4-0 on the day.
