We are delighted and honoured to announce that little Tommy will be one of our Matchday Mascots on Sunday in our eagerly awaited FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round game versus step 3 side Cheshunt FC.
Little Tommy who is 4 years old loves football and is a big Man City fan. Brave Tommy has been a regular patient of The Great Ormond Street Hospital ever since he was born and will require their medical expertise and care again soon, so on Sunday, we want to make Tommy’s day as special as possible as he walks out with players before the match. We would also like to ask you for your kind donations so we can raise vital funds for this amazing children’s Hospital which helps so many young people like Tommy with their amazing lifesaving care.
Donations can be made online by visiting https://www.gosh.org/donate. We will also have donation buckets at our FA Cup Match against Cheshunt and would be grateful for your support.
Please read more about Tommy below from his mum Bobbie. Let’s give little Tommy and his family the typical warm and friendly Bloaters experience on Sunday. Thank you.
Meet Tommy; he is 4 years old.
He has been diagnosed with complex heart conditions and breathing conditions.
Tommy has had to have 3 open heart surgeries and an operation on his airways to help with his breathing.
Tommy was in heart failure the day he was born and needed support with his breathing until after his first operation.
Unfortunately Tommy deteriorated and each day became weaker and needed to be blue lighted to Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital via CATS ambulance to have his first open heart surgery at 2 weeks old.
Due to severe complications, Tommy received a further 2 open heart surgeries.
His battle continued after receiving further treatment on his airways for a condition called subglottic stenosis.
Unfortunately, after having 4 major operations, Tommy is still fighting every day and showing us all the little fighter he is and taking each day as it comes.
Tommy is awaiting further operations and treatments to fix his poorly heart.
Many thanks
Bobbie
